History

1924

Company established in Sendai by Shigetoshi Motoyama named Motoyama Shoukai. While engaged in the plumbing design of heating, cooling, and air-conditioning systems, initiated research into the manufacture of metallic bellows under the guidance of Dr.K.Honda(Metallic Materials Laboratory, Tohoku University)

1928

Completed Japan’s first metallic bellows and developed components for application, such as steam traps and pressure reducing valves.

1938

Constructed head office and plant at Kita-Sendai. Reorganized as MOTOYAMA ENG. WORKS, LTD.

1950

Began manufacturing pneumatic control valves.

1958

Supplied non-leakage valves to the atomic energy research institute as a registered manufacturer.

1969

Authorized to test and manufacture high-pressure equipment by MITI.

1973

Provided the Canadian company W.G.Eliot Co., with pneumatic control valve technology.

Concluded a licensing agreement with the Crosby Valve and Gage Co., of the U.S. for safety valves and safety relief valves.

1978

Qualified by Lloyd’s Resister of Shipping for diaphragm actuator No.2800.

Completed the Ohhira test and Experiment Center and initiated full-scale operations.

Marketed the MOTOSEAL general-purpose leak-tight butterfly valve.

Marketed the EXCENTRO wide-range Butterfly valve mainly for high-temperature use in iron and steel plants.

1980

Certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for its N, NPT, NV, V, and UV code symbol stamps.

1981

Marketed the GYROLL eccentric rotating plug valve featuring high control.

1982

Marketed the JNO, JNB series of general-purpose high-performance safety valves.

1986

Marketed the JPV series of pilot safety valves.

1988

Marketed the MINNOW No.3488 general-purpose compact control valve.

1991

Marketed the MAC1000 #3800 series control valve.

1993

Marketed the optics valve for blast furnace.

1994

Qualified for “ISO9001” Certificate of Approval.
Completed new, state of the art plant in Ohhira, Miyagi pref.

1995

Marketed the #3889 type control valve.

1997

Marketed Noiseless valve “NRV” with high performance (30dB below).

1998

Marketed New type Gyroll #3993 with range-ability 300:1, realized reassemble after piping.

Marketed #83-BS sealing balanced type, cage guide style control valves.

1999

Approved safety quality license for import boiler and pressure vessel by the ministry of labor of the people’s republic of China.

2000

Marketed #83-BSH high temperature type, cage guide style control valves.

2001

“Bottling Valve” for various kinds of sampling use is on sale.

“Sampling system” for PCB resolution is on sale.

2002

Steam trap “SDV” for plant is on sale. Multifunction positioner “TZID-C200” is on sale.

Interior bellows valve #3889-IB featured as emission-free is on sale.

2003

Manual control bellows valve “MHBSV” featured as emission-free is on sale.

2007

Established with succession of all right and duties regarding the valve marketing and manufacturing from the former company of MOTOYAMA ENG. WORKS, LTD. in accordance with partition corporation.

2009

Qualified for “ISO14001” Certificate of Approval.

2011

Marketed #16C Eccentric Rotating Disc Valve.

Marketed #EA10S Intelligent Valve Positioner.
